Meet Danielle, one of our amazing patients at Circle the City’s Downtown Medical Respite Center. Her story is one of resilience, perseverance, and hope.
Danielle faced homelessness when her daughter divorced, and her ex-spouse kicked her out of their home. She was left without a safe place to stay, and her wounds became infected. When she sought help at a hospital, she was turned away and left to fend for herself on the streets.
Desperate for help, Danielle returned to the hospital, looking for a safe place to sleep and receive medical care. But she was told that since she had been discharged, she could no longer stay on the property. Fearing for her safety, Danielle threatened to harm herself to remain in a safe space.
Danielle then found her way to Circle the City’s Downtown Medical Respite Center. Since 2022, Danielle has been under our compassionate care, receiving daily medical attention, medication management, and nutrition. She’s so grateful to have a safe place to stay and access to doctors daily.
Danielle’s journey to healing is a testament to the transformative work at Circle the City. It’s because of our community’s support that we can provide a helping hand to men, women, and children facing homelessness.
